Nancy lost 58 lbs
As a nurse, I understood the importance of living a healthy life, but that still did not prevent me from gaining weight. At times, it felt like food was controlling my life and that led me to trying and failing with every diet from Herbal Magic to Jenny Craig. I was your classic yoyo dieter; I’d lose weight and then put all of it – plus a little more – back on.
Working as a nurse where gastric banding procedures were being done, I was able to watch many patients successfully lose weight and keep it off, so I knew this was an option. After coming off yet another diet where I had lost over 30 pounds, I finally made it down to 175 pounds. While I would have liked to weigh less, I would have been satisfied with at least being able to stay at that weight. Unfortunately, as with every other diet I had tried, my weight started to creep up again. It was then that I decided to go ahead with the Slimband procedure. I knew I didn’t have another diet in me.
It was one of the best decisions I could have made. Working in the health care industry it’s always good to be able to show your patients that you not only have the knowledge, but that you actually live a healthy lifestyle. I wanted to simply maintain my weight and I not only did that, but I also lost a lot more. After losing 58 pounds in less than 8 months, I now have the body I have always dreamed of. I’m eating smaller portions and getting full faster while maintaining a healthy bodyweight. With the Slimband in place and the support I've been given, I never find myself feeling hungry any longer, I only find myself feeling and looking healthier than ever!
